World’s #1 Golfer in New AR Photo System From Monster XP
Rory McIlroy Promotes Players Championship in 4 Markets
Monster XP has partnered with the Golf Channel and the world’s top ranked golfer to help promote the Players Championship, being held this weekend, March 12-15. Using video clips of Rory McIlroy shot specifically for the interactive experience, Monster XP created an augmented reality photo system where consumers can have a photo taken with Rory and shared digitally.
This promotional campaign, which launched this week, is being executed in four markets: Boston, Philadelphia, Chicago and Orlando. Each AR photo system features a custom video clip from McIlroy that is specific to that market. The interactive kiosks feature a large touchscreen (55” in three marketing and an 86” in Orlando) and allows the consumer to share their photo via email, SMS or multiple social media channels.
Note: All of our activations have the ability to be made motion-activated and touchless!
Rory McIlroy is looking to join elite company this week at TPC Sawgrass in Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla. Only six golfers have won the Players Championship multiple times. The last one to achieve the feat was Tiger Woods. No golfer has won the Players Championship in back-to-back years, which McIlroy has the chance to do after winning the event last year.

March 13, 2020 – Update!
Rory Gets Trolled By Impressionist
Earlier this week, The Golf Channel and Monster XP launched an experiential marketing campaign to help promote the Player Championship tournament. The campaign features the world’s top ranked golfer, Rory McIlroy, in several augmented reality photo kiosks that were deployed around the country. The Golf Channel’s own Conor Moore, who has famously impersonated several top golfers, decided to have a little fun with Rory and this new campaign. The result is tee-rific!
