Love is in the Air – For Puppies and Kittens
Our Motion-Activated Kiosk Matches Pets with Pet Lovers
It’s Valentine’s season and with love in the air, The Shelter Pet Project wanted to use the latest in digital technology to create an engaging experience that anyone passing by couldn’t resist. Monster XP and Lightbox Out of Home Video Network worked together to create an interactive experience at key locations on the East coast at the Christiana Mall in Delaware, and on the West coast, at the Northridge Fashion Center in Los Angeles, CA. Using gesture recognition, shoppers are able to explore the current pets available at shelters in their area using an interface similar to Bumble and Tinder.
While this is a fun way to find new homes for cats and dogs, this is a serious issue around the country. Within the next year, an estimated 3.2 million cats and approximately 3.3 dogs will be placed in shelters and rescue groups across the country. The Shelter Pet Project is a combined effort from two of the leading animal welfare groups, the Humane Society of the United States and Maddie’s Fund, along with the leader in PSA campaigns, The Ad Council. The Shelter Pet Project believes that adopting a pet from a shelter or rescue is a win-win, for both you and your new best friend.
