Using Contactless Technologies to Engage with Audiences

Mar 17, 2021 | News

Monster XP piloted gestural campaigns over 15 years ago. Leverage our knowledge to make your touch-free activations a success.

As brands start to re-engage with consumers in the coming weeks and months, touchless technology will lead the way in creating impactful experiential activations. Monster XP is an industry leader that uses technology to engage brands with their audiences; over the past several years, we have designed and executed hundreds of successful contactless engagement programs using strategies that include:

  • Proximity detection
  • Motion activation
  • Gesture recognition and control
  • Facial detection and sentiment identification
  • Voice recognition
  • Mobile device interaction
  • Web applications
  • Web-based augmented reality
  • QR codes
  • NFC tags
  • Social media amplification & visualizations
  • Shortened and vanity URLs

One high-profile program was for smartwater.  Monster XP partnered with Posterscope to promote smartwater’s “Look Up” campaign.  Along with creative partner, Droga5, Monster XP activated a custom interactive domination in the highly-trafficked Bryant Park transit station. Taking inspiration from smartwater’s vapor-distillation process, we created an innovative multi-faceted program that invited commuters to pause and look to the sky where they could paint and sculpt with the clouds.

A stunning, moving smartwater sky caught users’ attention as they walked by. Using a completely touchless depth-keying technology, the system identified a user’s body and upon recognition, users were able to use their hand to draw larger than life clouds in the sky!

For Valentine’s season, The Shelter Pet Project wanted to use the latest in digital technology to create an engaging experience that anyone passing by couldn’t help but stop. Monster XP and Lightbox Out of Home Video Network worked together to create an interactive experience at key locations on both the East and West coasts in malls. Using gesture recognition, shoppers were able to explore the current pets available at shelters in their area using an interface similar to Bumble and Tinder.

To deliver a never-before-seen experience for ESPN, Monster XP teamed up with Wieden + Kennedy and MacDonald Media to engage passers-by in a full-body responsive, real-time, street-level interactive ad. Consumers were invited to really get ‘in the zone’ and challenge a quarterback from the upcoming game and see how their high scores match up against players from other cities. These cutting-edge displays were strategically placed in highly-trafficked locations in NYC, Boston and Chicago.

Let’s work together to create new programs to engage your brands with their audience. Email us at info@monsterxp.net to set up a brainstorming session and receive a free quote.
