Monster XP Powers the Super Bowl Experience for Tampa Electric

Feb 17, 2021 | News

Tampa Electric wanted to share their commitment to sustainability and clean energy while also activating safely for the Super Bowl Experience.

With the Tampa Bay Buccaneers making history as the first team to play and then win the Super Bowl on home turf, Tampa Electric was proud to be part of the festivities leading up to the game as the official sustainability partner of the Super Bowl LV Host Committee. Since Tampa Electric was busy powering the Super Bowl, they turned to Monster XP to help share the story of energy conservation by activating their fan zone for the official NFL Super Bowl Experience.

On select dates during the two weeks prior to the Super Bowl, fans were able to visit the Tampa Electric activation space at Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park in downtown Tampa as part of the free festivities leading up to the big game. The Super Bowl Experience included live entertainment, projection mapping, top-notch food and beverage, and many family-friendly fan engagement opportunities.

Tampa Electric highlighted their commitment to sustainability and clean energy with the following elements in their activation:

  • Solar Pavilions – solar charging and shade structures where fans were able to harness the suns energy to recharge their mobile devices to keep them connected during their stay at the Super Bowl Experience. The solar panels also offered an escape from the sun for guests to sit at the table and enjoy some of the great food and drink at the event.
  • Oversized LED Wall – this video wall served to anchor the Tampa Electric activation space to show their larger-than-life support for Tom Brady and the Buccaneers (as well as feature some great Sustainability tips and details on the many Solar Energy programs that Tampa Electric offers).
  • Lamb Cam Photo Op – SBX fans were able to snap a photo in the virtual Tampa Electric solar field. They were surprised by the cutest photo bombers ever – the famed Katahdin “Lamb Cam” lambs – that maintain the vegetation at Tampa Electric’s Big Bend Solar site. Tampa Electric uses grazing sheep to provide a more environmentally-friendly and cost-effective solution for keeping the grass short.
  • Grab the Energy Savings Interactive Game – Fans were challenged to test their energy IQ with the Tampa Electric Energy Savings Whack-a-Mole game. They would attempt to spot and grab as many ways as possible to save energy and money. Not only would fans learn a few ideas to save money on their electric bill, they would also have an energy audit sent directly to their mobile device.

While Tampa Electric is clearly committed to sustainability, green energy and supporting the Tampa Bay community, just as important for them was activating safely. Monster XP provided trained brand ambassadors to encourage social distancing throughout the experience, deployed stanchions and one-way directional signage to prevent congestion, ensured high-touch surfaces were cleaned between guests, and provided hand sanitizer. Face masks were also required for all attendees.

So, while we all celebrate the Bucs, we were excited to help Tampa Electric do so safely and by being mindful of the impact to the environment. Let’s go, Bucs – we look forward to seeing you win it all again next year!
